Most people think budgeting means restriction. But here's what actually happens — you start seeing where money goes, and suddenly you're making choices instead of wondering where it all went.

What You'll Actually Learn

This isn't about complex spreadsheets or cutting out everything you enjoy. We focus on practical skills that work in real life — tracking what matters, spotting patterns you didn't know existed, and building habits that stick.

The program runs over eight weeks starting October 2025. Each session builds on the last, but we keep things flexible because life doesn't follow a perfect schedule.

  • Setting up tracking systems that take five minutes a week
  • Understanding your actual spending patterns (not what you think they are)
  • Creating buffer zones that prevent those "unexpected" emergencies
  • Adjusting budgets when priorities shift
  • Planning for irregular expenses without panic

How It Works

We meet twice a week — once for new concepts, once for working through your own numbers. Small groups mean you get actual feedback, not generic advice that might work for someone somewhere.

Between sessions, you'll test what we covered using your real expenses. Sometimes it works perfectly. Sometimes you hit a snag and we adjust the approach. That's the point — finding what fits your situation.

By week six, most people have a system they can maintain without thinking too hard about it. The last two weeks focus on handling changes and staying consistent when motivation fades.

Real Sessions, Real Progress

Our sessions happen in small groups at our Annandale location. You'll work with the same people throughout the program, which means everyone gets comfortable sharing what's actually challenging them.

We cover things like variable income, shared expenses with partners, and those subscription services you forgot about three months ago. Each week includes time to ask questions about your specific situation — not hypothetical scenarios from a textbook.

One thing we've noticed: people who complete the program usually say the community aspect made the difference. Having others working through the same challenges keeps you accountable without feeling judged.

What Past Participants Say

These are real people who finished the program. Their situations varied widely, but the core principles worked across different income levels and life stages.

I thought I needed to earn more money. Turns out I just needed to stop losing track of small purchases. Three months after finishing, I had my first proper emergency fund. Not huge, but enough to fix my car without panicking.

The tracking method they taught actually made sense. I tried apps before and gave up within days. This approach took maybe five minutes on Sunday mornings. I still use it now, seven months later, without even thinking about it.
